The year 2007 is the birth centenary of Edvard Ravnikar, one of the most prominent Slovenian architects. To celebrate this important anniversary and place Ravnikar’s opus within Slovenian and international cultural context, the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana will organize several events, including the International Student Photography Competition.

Edvard Ravnikar was an architect, urban planner, theorist and teacher. His numerous buildings, urban and landscape designs are today inseparable parts of cities and landscapes in Slovenia and elsewhere. The aim of the Student Photography Competition is to look at them through the photographic lens and see them as the places where the architect’s thoughts encounter the contemporary reality.

The Competition will last from 14th June until 15th October 2007. All awarded photographs will be presented in the open-air exhibition in the Republic Square in Ljubljana.
