Laura Silvestre García:
MAKING UP AN EXHIBITION PROJECT.
What factors could have influenced the creation of museums? When did museums stop being considered as instruments for the conservation, analysis and diffusion of works from the past and made way for contemporary works of art? This lecture will basically try to give an answer to these and other questions by means of a review of some of the most significant moments, from the inception of the first exhibition spaces up to the present time.
The second part, though not exhaustive, aims to provide an introduction to a number of basic questions that must be kept in mind when designing a good exhibition project, including such important factors as the idea and nature of the project, the exhibition space itself and the art works to be included. A stimulating task in constant dialogue with Art, with the space and with the spectators.

Isabel Tristán Tristán y Laura Silvestre García:
FACULTY OF FINE ARTS OF THE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF VALENCIA PRESENTATION. MASTER’S DEGREE IN ARTISTIC PRODUCTION (MPA).
This lecture gives a general view of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a description of the Bachelor’s Degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts, including its structure, the services available at the Faculty and the Departments. Also Postgraduate Programmes, with special attention to the Master’s Degree in Artistic Production (MPA) and to SELECTA and PAM, two of its most important annual exhibitions.
The main aim of the SELECTA project is to offer professional training to MAP students on ways of making their work visible and of establishing bridges of communication with the art world. These aims are achieved through a series of exhibitions and other activities in a number of spaces in the city of Valencia, designed to promote interactions among the proposals offered by MAP students, art professionals and art teachers.
PAM! is another project that involves artists, students, teachers and professionals of the cultural sector. After four editions, it is now an established reference in Valencia for the exhibition of the work of promising young artists and is complemented by a full program of parallel activities like conferences, round tables, concerts, performances, talks and workshops.
